Prof. Schneider received her MS and PhD degrees in Engineering with an emphasis on Materials Science, from the University of California at Davis in 1993 and 1996, respectively. Prior to that she received her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1977. After receiving her B.S. degree, and prior to her graduate studies, Dr. Schneider worked for 16 years on the design and verification of prototype devices for the Aerospace and Biomedical Industries. Success of these devices was extremely dependent on both the material selection and processing methods. Dr. Schneider has continued to carry this theme into the academic setting for training the next generation of engineers regarding aspects of advanced manufacturing processes for meeting challenging operational requirements.

Prof. Alireza Heidari is a highly accomplished chemist who has made significant contributions to the field of chemistry through his extensive research and academic work. He completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from the Islamic Azad University and California South University. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University and CSU, where he focused on projects related to biophysical, computational, and nanoscale chemistry. He has received several awards and honors for his research work, and he continues to be an active member of the scientific community, conducting research, teaching, and mentoring students.

He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University in 2001, where he focused on studying the properties and behaviour of materials at the molecular and atomic level. Prior to that, he obtained his M.S. in Materials Science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1997, where he gained a solid foundation in the fundamentals of materials science. In 1994, he completed his B.S. in Chemical Metallurgical Engineering, also from UNAM, where he developed a strong understanding of the principles of chemical engineering and metallurgy. With his broad and diverse educational background, Castaneda is well-equipped to tackle complex problems in materials science and engineering.
