Biography:
Dr. Ruotao Xu is an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Super Robotics in Huangpu, where he leads a team focused on developing intelligent algorithms and systems for human-robot interaction. His research interests lie at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, image processing, sparse coding, and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on integrated systems for robotic perception and interaction. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from South China University of Technology (SCUT) in 2020 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at SCUT in September 2023. He has led four national and provincial research projects and has published approximately 30 papers in top-tier journals and conferences, including IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TIP, CVPR, ICCV, and AAAI. Most recently, his novel 3D Gaussian Splatting-based robotic control framework was accepted for oral presentation at AAAI (top 20%). He also served as a session chair for Image Quality Assessment at ICME 2022 and as a reviewer for leading publications such as IEEE TMM, IEEE TNNLS, CVPR, and ICCV.
