Dr. Lin specializes in all forms acupuncture, management of osteoarthritis and tendinopathy and management of patients with metabolic syndrome. Dr. Lin is particularly adept at facial acupuncture, for which she received intensive training and is certified by the Taiwan facial acupuncture society. Facial acupuncture can be applied to patients with various neurological facial disorders including Bell\u2019s palsy, post stroke facial asymmetry, trigeminal neuropathy and other similar diseases for symptom relief. Dr. Lin often collaborates with numerous neurologists, whom regularly refer patients following resolution of acute neurological episodes for long term symptom relief. Dr. Lin has also cooperated with neurologists to treat numerous patients seeking her advice due to nerve injury following acupuncture at various clinics. Psych is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the British Psychological Society. She earned a Ph.D. in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, and completed all pre-dissertation course work and comprehensive exams in the Psy.D. program at Adler University, where she also completed a Master\u2019s degree in Counseling Psychology.<\/p>\n<p>She is the founder of the Zdyb Centre for Health Promotion (2017), MindSetting (2020) and Audacity Health (2022).<\/p>\n<p>She has worked in various clinical settings including the Student Development Centre at the University of Western Ontario, community-based private practices, and St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Additionally, she acted as an external examiner in the graduate studies department of the University of Peshawar, worked as a medical consultant for Equitable Life of Canada, was the Vice Chair of the Mental Health Impact Council at the Middlesex-London United Way, Adjunct Faculty member in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. During the survey, 13 out of 28 bacterial isolates were selected for further screening. Based on hemolysis, AR2 (Providencia rettgeri) was selected for further experimental study and found to be pathogenic in H. fossilis. Based on agar diffusion test, Withania somnifera was found most effective among herbal plants, whereas Eisenia fetida was found most effective among different earthworms. P. rettgeri is a Gram-negative, opportunistic bacterium. This study describes the isolation of the pathogenic bacterium P. rettgeri AR2HAU from diseased Heteropneustes fossilis. To our knowledge, this bacterium is the first report of a pathogenic bacterium from H. fossilis. This pathogenic bacterium was experimentally injected into healthy fish to confirm its pathogenicity. The experimentally induced infection resulted in skin darkening, accumulation of body fluids, and redness around the mouth and anal region. Histopathological examination of the intestines from experimentally infected fish revealed mild infiltration of mononuclear cells\u2014mainly lymphocytes\u2014within the mucosa, along with goblet cell hyperplasia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prof. R.K. So, we can design drugs against various breast cancer targets like ER, HER-2, CDK 4, PARP etc. 9-anilinoacridines play an important role as antitumor DNA-intercalating agents, due to their antiproliferative properties. Several anticancer agents with 9-anilinoacridines such as amascrine and nitracrine have been developed. But these drugs have some adverse effects<\/p>\n<p><strong>Methods:<\/strong> In the present study, for identification of potential ligands of 9-anilinoacridines as selective ER\u03b1 inhibitors (2IOG.pdb) targeting breast cancer by using Schrodinger suit-2025-2, Maestro 14 version. I<em>n-silico<\/em> design was performed using Schrodinger suite 2024-2. Thiazine substituted 9-anilino acridines were designed and docking studies were performed in Glide Module against ER\u03b1 (2IOG.pdb) targeting breast cancer. ADMET studies were performed in Qikprop module, Binding free energy calculations by Prime-MMGBSA module and MD simulation study was done in Desmond module to check the behaviour of docking complex in our body environment. Based on <em>in-silico<\/em> results, the selective thiazine substituted 9-anilino acridines (<strong>7a-j)<\/strong> are synthesized by given scheme and the compounds are Characterized and confirmed by <sup>1<\/sup>H NMR, <sup>13<\/sup>C NMR, IR, Mass spectra. Evaluation of <em>In-vitro<\/em> anti-breast cancer activity against MCF-7 cell by MTT assay, ER binding assay and gene expression are performed. The <em>In vivo<\/em> efficacy of compound was assessed using an MCF-7 xenograft mouse model<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong> The 9-anilinoacridine derivatives <strong>4a-j<\/strong> have good binding affinity with Glide score in the range of &#8211;8.11 to -12.64 \u00a0Kcal\/mol when compared with the standard Nitracrine (-5.61) and tamoxifen (-7.81). The ADMET screening of the designed molecules are within the recommended values. MM-GBSA binding results of most potent inhibitor displayed stable and favorable.\u00a0 A 100ns MD simulation study also confirms the stability of docking complex. The compounds with good Glide scores are synthesized, characterized and evaluation of Anti-breast Cancer activity against MCF-7 Cell lines also performed Two of the synthesized compounds <strong>4f &amp; 4j<\/strong> had shown good IC<sub>50<\/sub> values 123.3\u00b5M and 164\u00b5M. ER binding assay and gene expression by RT-PCR method had also proven that these compounds are good antagonist to estrogen receptor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong> The results reveal that, this study provides evidence for consideration of valuable ligands in 9-anilinoacridine derivatives as potential ER\u03b1 inhibitor and the compounds, <strong>4f &amp; 4j <\/strong>have significant anti-breast cancer activity and are useful as drugs after further refinement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kalirajan Rajagopal graduated both UG and PG in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR medical University, Chennai. However, post-treatment survivors are reported to have significantly poor cardiovascular fitness which affects their health-related quality of life (HRQoL). In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), evidence for practice addressing post-treatment concerns is scarce.<\/p>\n<p>Objective: To analyse the changes in cardiorespiratory fitness and HRQoL domains for breast cancer survivors in the UAE using a 2-month physical rehabilitation program.<\/p>\n<p>Methodology:<br \/>\nDesign: parallel group, randomized controlled trial.<br \/>\nParticipants and Setting: The study included breast cancer survivors who were treated with chemotherapy and\/or radiotherapy, aged 18-65 years, and able to provide informed consent. Participants were recruited by referral from Al Tawam Hospital, a national referral center for oncology, and Dubai Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Interventions: The intervention group (IG) received a 2-month individualized rehabilitation program adapted from the BREX program in terms of its training components with 2 supervised sessions and 3 at-home sessions per week. The sessions were held at Thumbay Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital. The control group (CG) received standard care at their treatment facility. Randomization for subject allocation was double-blinded (conducted by a third party not involved in research) and facilitated through a person not involved in the study.<\/p>\n<p>Outcome: The changes in cardiorespiratory fitness were measured by Cosmed fitmate Pro device while assessing the change in peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) for the 2 km walk test, and Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR) by peak flow meter, HRQoL, measured by the QLQ-C30 questionnaire. Outcomes were measured at baseline, post-intervention, and 3 months post-intervention. Allocation of intervention was not blinded due to the nature of the intervention; however, the outcome accessors were blinded.<\/p>\n<p>Results: A total of 62 breast cancer survivors were randomly allocated to the intervention group (n=31) and the control group (n=31). Data from all participants who completed the 5-month trial were analyzed. The intervention group showed a significant improvement from baseline to follow-up in terms of cardiorespiratory fitness: VO2peak increased by 8.3 \u00b1 4.6 mL\/kg\/min and PEFR by 81 \u00b1 2.73 L\/min, while the control group demonstrated a decrease of 1.1 \u00b1 2.1 mL\/kg\/min and 4 \u00b1 2.48 L\/min, respectively (between-group difference, p&lt;0.001). The intervention program was also significantly effective in improving HRQoL in all functional domains of scale except cognitive and social, and there was a notable reduction in the symptoms of fatigue, dyspnea, pain, and sleep disturbances.<\/p>\n<p>Conclusions: The intervention group showed significant improvement in cardiorespiratory fitness and multiple domains of HRQoL among breast cancer survivors in the UAE, which were sustained at 3 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Animesh Hazari is currently working as an Associate Professor at the College of Health Sciences at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. He is actively involved in supervising and encouraging research activities of students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at GMU. He is also supervising and guiding PhD students at international Universities. He is a well-known researcher across the globe for his valuable contribution to areas of Diabetic Foot, Health Aging, Physical Activity, Oncorehabilitation, Biomechanics, and Neuromuscular function, with over 45 indexed publications and multiple guest speakers at international conferences. At GMU, his research output has been significant in terms of internal and external grants. A recently awarded externally funded research grant from the Badminton World Federation has yielded significant outputs. He is also involved in a research grant from the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, on biomechanical analysis in children with cerebral palsy. Dr. Hazari has 2 patents under his name for areas of his work excellence.
