Hermis Iatrou is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He received his Bachelor of Chemistry in 1989 from the Chemistry Department of NKUA and his PhD from the Chemistry Department of NKUA in 1993. Then he was awarded a Post-Doc Fellow through a Marie-Curie project at the Institute fur Festkoperforschungs” Forschungszentrum Juelich, Germany from 1994-1995. He was then the Director of the Analysis Laboratory of Aviation fuels for the Northern Greek Army Air Force Installations during his obligatory duty in the Greek Army, from 1995-1997. Then he conducted a second post-doc at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA, from 1997-1998. He became a Research Fellow of Prof. Nikos Hadjichristidis at the NKUA, Chemistry Department from 1998-2002. He became an Assistant professor of the Chemistry Department of NKUA on 2002, an Associate Professor on 2009 and a Professor on 2015. He is the Director of the Graduate Program “Polymer Science and its Applications to the Industry”, Industrial Chemistry Laboratory, Chemistry Department, NKUA since 2015, while he became the Director of the Industrial Chemistry Lab of Chemistry Department of NKUA since 2018. He serves as member of the Steering Committee of the Hellenic Polymer Society (2012-now) and a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Nanotechnology in Health Sciences. His research interests are in the areas of Polymer Chemistry, synthesis of biomaterials for drug and gene delivery, synthesis of nanostructured materials for biological applications, “smart” responsive nanomaterials for targeted drug delivery applications. He has published more than 150 papers in referred journals.

Dr. Hyunwoo Jung is a research professor of Health Administration at Yonsei University in Wonju, Gangwondo, South Korea. He achieved his undergraduate degree in Health Administration and Social Welfare in 2015 from Yonsei University. Hyunwoo Jung received his Ph.D. in Health Policy & Management from Korea University in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Jun Hyup, Lee. Now he holds dual positions at Yonsei University, which are a postdoctoral fellow in the Graduate Program of developing glocal experts in health policy and Management, and a research professor in the Department of Health Administration. Hyunwoo Jung is specialized in health insurance, health policy, economic evaluation, and health services thereby publishing several articles related to those fields.

Also, he is currently interested in the virtuous cycle of health and its positive influence on the aging society. He is leading a project, “a study on the implementation of a virtuous cycle of health in a middle-aging society using AI machine learning techniques.” Hyunwoo Jung’s ultimate goal is to make a better world by getting wisdom from research, pursuing freedom, and opening the “common sense barriers” between each people.

After graduating from the School of Dentistry, I have completed a Master’s of Science in preventive
Dentistry, Endodontology. My interests spread beyond clinical practice and therefore I have
completed a second Master’s of Science in Medical Ethics. After successful completion of my
second MSc, I have started a PhD in Medical School studying the role of biases in medical
education. For the past two years I have been working in the Medical School of Aristotle University
of Thessaloniki as an academic scholar specializing in the study and prevention of biases in
medical education.
My research interests lie in studying gender disparities, ageism and homophobia among medical
students and doctors, and the role of medical education. I am interested on the stereotypes and
bias in the health professionals and how these influence their medical services and their life in
general. I have contributed towards the establishment of a cross-cultural curriculum in the Medical
School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Medical education should teach students about
diversity and acceptability with updated curriculums and designed interventions and health
inequities should be an important bioethics concern.

Dr. Baoxue Yang obtained his M.D. degree from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences in 1984 and his Ph.D. degree in immunology from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences in 1993. After three years of postdoc training in Cardiovascular Research Institute, University of California in San Francisco (UCSF), he started his own research programs in the same institute, where he was promoted to assistant researcher of molecular biology in 1997. He worked as assistant professor in Department of Medicine, UCSF from 2003 to 2009. Dr. Yang has been working as professor in Department of Pharmacology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, China since 2009. Now he serves as Chair of Department of Pharmacology. He is a principle investigator in State Key Laboratory of Natural and Biomimetic Drugs. He is also a chairman of Division of Nephropharmacology, Chinese Pharmacological Society, and a chairman of Division of Ganoderma, China Association of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Yang’s research focuses on renal pharmacology. His research projects include the renal protective effect of natural compounds and their mechanism of action with the aim of developing novel drugs. He has published more than 150 research papers in prestigious journals such as PNAS, JASN, JBC and holds 11 patents. He edited books “Urea Transporters”, “Aquaporins” and “Ganoderma and Health”.

Eliane Pimenta da Silva has a Technical Course in Microbiological Analysis at Escola de Tecnologia e Gestão Industrial (ETGI) associated with the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, Católica University of Porto, Portugal, in 1994. Then she graduated in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science from the University of Porto (FCUP), Portugal, on 2011. She concluded her PhD in Veterinary Sciences (virology) at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto (ICBAS-UP), Portugal, in 2016.
Her main research interests are virology, infectious diseases of human, wild and domestic animals. She has 27 articles published in international journals (SCOPUS Silva, Eliane P, Universidade do Porto, Porto, Portugal, 27 Documents by author; 570 Citations; h-index 13, https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=22955054400). She has participated in several research projects, as principal investigator (PI) in the field of Occult Hepatitis C infection (Hepatitis C virus), or as team member in the fields, such as, SARS-CoV-2, Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease virus (RHDV) and European Brown Hare Syndrome (EBHS), and has also participated in several research events like congress, workshops and courses.

Dr. Yeong-Tae Song received his master’s and doctorate in computer science from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1993, 1999 respectively. Before joining academia, he has about 8 years of industry experience as a software engineer and a network software test engineer. He has been PIs for numerous research projects including Telemedicine project from NASA, electronic medical record system for the state of Maryland, and various industry projects such as smart-learning management system and Voice-over-IP network capacity measurement. His research areas have been software engineering, enterprise architecture, e-learning, and medical informatics.

Dr. Luca Labianca currently works at the Department of Surgical and Medical Sciences and Translational Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome. he does research in Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery. Their most recent publication is ‘Friday, September 28, 2018 10:30 AM–12:00 PM abstracts: deformity: technical factors’.
