Dr. Ahmed Rafea received his PhD from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, and is currently a Professor of Computer Science and ex-Chair of the Computer Science Department at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He previously served as Chair of the Computer Science Department and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Cairo University. He has also held visiting professorships at San Diego State University and National University in the United States. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Rafea has led numerous national and international research and development projects as a principal investigator and project manager. His work has focused on Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Machine Translation, Social Media Mining, Knowledge-Based Systems, and Expert Systems technologies, including applications for the development of the Egyptian agricultural sector. He has collaborated extensively with European and American universities on the development of intelligent systems and advanced language technologies. Dr. Rafea’s research interests include Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation, Knowledge Engineering, Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge-Based Systems, and Data, Text, and Web Mining. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications, including journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. He has served extensively as a program committee member, reviewer, and chair for numerous national and international conferences.

Said Mohammed Soliman is a Fraud and Compliance Practice Lead at SAS, where he leads AI-driven fraud prevention and financial crime solutions across Africa. He is also an M.Sc. researcher in Computer Science at The American University in Cairo. His research focuses on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Large Language Models, trustworthy AI, and quantitative evaluation frameworks for machine-generated reasoning. His work aims to improve transparency and human trust in AI systems through practical, reproducible evaluation methodologies.

She also has experience in AI-based industrial optimization through her internship at Aptiv Company (Tangier, Morocco), where she developed a dynamic speed control system for Komax cutting machines using machine learning techniques. This project won first place in the Lean OPEX 2.0 Tournament competition in 2025.

He has extensive global experience working with leading multinational organizations across America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, rising to the position of Senior Vice President. He has contributed to Defence Ministry and Government of India research projects at IIT Mumbai.
He is also an active academic, serving as a Visiting Professor at premier institutions such as IIM, IIT, and Symbiosis, and has published widely in international and national conferences and journals.
